Alstom completes first unit at Foz do Chapecó hydropower plant

Preparation for insertion of a Francis turbine at Foz do Chapecó hydropower plant.

Alstom recently announced the company has successfully completed the first power generating unit at the Foz do Chapecó hydropower plant in Brazil, on the Uruguay River. The unit has 214 MW of capacity, and is one of four units to be assembled at the power plant. Alstom's contract includes the delivery and installation of all the major components at the power plant, including hydroturbines, generators, hydromechanical equipment, and other related parts.
